Mat Watson reviews the 2012 Sprinter for AutoExpress long before his CarWow days. The Mercedes

sprinter is a premium van that you can get in a wide range of body sizes, engine choices and transmissions. But, is it going to be the right van for you? We find out in this video review. The largest Sprinter has a load volume of 17cubic meters and that puts it right up there with the biggest panel vans such as the Vauxhall Movano. Also the payload is up to two and a half tonnes, but all models are rear-wheel drives meaning the load height is slightly higher than certain rivals. Being a Mercedes, you can get lots of options for the Sprinter, including sat-nav, rear parking cameras and cruise control. But be warned, once you start spending on options the price of the van will soon mount up. You can get the Sprinter with a wide range of diesel engines with stop-start technology for improved efficiency. The most economical model can do 35mpg and emits just 195g/km of CO2. Even entry level 95bhp model feels nippy enough, but the 3.0-litre V6 diesel which has 190bhp. The Mercedes Sprinter is a van you can rely on, finishing in the top three for reliability ... Unfortunately, spare parts are quite expensive. Overall, it's easy to drive, cheap to run and you can get a four-wheel drive version. On the downside, you can't get front-wheel drive, the load height is high and it's quite expensive to buy. See the video review for a more in-depth analysis. SHOW LESS

About Me

onlyvanss.jfif

Originally a Tiktok channel OnlyVanss shows vans reviews. Van reviews are not as public as car reviews and my aim is to show reviews of vans like Top Gear show reviews of cars. I do not claim the own the content I show but I use it to distribute awareness of van reviews and hopefully help viewers in their van search.
